Why we dance
Every ticket funds a student's future
For more than 100 years, the Mardi Gras Ball has been Alpha Omega Chapter's main vehicle for funding its community and social action programs through the Alpha Omega Social Action & Scholarship Foundation (AOSASF). First held in 1923, and after a few periods when it was not held annually, it has been a yearly tradition for more than four decades.
AOSASF awards scholarships to Washington, DC-area high school and college students based on academic achievement and community service, and recognizes young performing artists in voice, drama, instrumental music and dance through its Talent Hunt program.
